Solar as a tool for grassroots-level wealth building

Crystal Huang, a grassroots community-builder, 2020 Roddenberry Fellow, and the CEO of People Power Solar Cooperative with more than 10 years experience deploying climate solutions, spoke with the Bay Area Climate Reality chapter about her work at People Power. She discussed the enormity of our task at hand – transitioning away from a fossil fuel economy, combating wealth inequality, and building power for people of color, low-income communities, and front-line communities – and how that requires that communities doing the groundwork of leading a justice-based transition also lead in making decisions about our collective assets and resources.
