CRBA MARIN/SONOMA SQUAD RECEIVES HIGH ACCOLADES FOR EV ADVOCACY

Congratulations to the CRBA Marin/Sonoma Policy Action Squad for being recognized this month by the Governor’s Office of Business & Economic Development (GO-Biz) with its “ZEVe- Award.“ (Zero Emission Vehicle).  The award honors regional leaders who exhibit leadership and dedication in helping California prepare for a zero-emission future.

About the recognition Marin Squad member, David Moller, reflects, “We have been in contact with the GO-Biz office quite a bit over the past 1-1/2 years as we worked to get all Marin and Sonoma jurisdictions in compliance with AB 1236 (the CA law requiring all jurisdictions to adopt streamlined permitting for EV chargers), but it was quite unexpected when they notified us of the recognition. “

Here is the how the Governor’s Office of Business and Economic development described the award and the Marin/Sonoma squad’s accomplishments that prompted it:

ZEVE- AWARD

“GO-Biz is honoring regional ZEV heroes for their leadership and dedication in preparing our state for our zero-emission future with the ZEVe- Award.

David and Robin Moller and Martin Kupferman, Marin/Sonoma EV Squad: These members of the EV Squad, part of The Climate Reality Project Bay Area Chapter, have been dedicated advocates to encourage clean energy investment in their community. Using AB 1236 as their guide, David, Robin, and Martin organized throughout Marin and Sonoma Counties to meet the requirements of the state’s electric vehicle charging station permit streamlining law. Through some persistent and heroic work at local building and planning departments, the EV Squad helped cities all over Marin and Sonoma Counties cut through the red tape to streamline the process for installing charging stations. Passionate EV drivers can make a world of difference in their community.

When the EV Squad started this effort in early 2020, only two of Marin’s twelve jurisdictions had adopted streamlined permitting. As a result of the EV Squad’s efforts, the final remaining jurisdiction, the City of Mill Valley, unanimously adopted streamlined EVCS permitting procedures earlier this month. Click

Congratulations to David, Robin and Martin for this well-deserved recognition.  Advocacy matters, and advocacy works!
