Climate Reality Bay Area chapter celebrated Green Friday on November 24, 2023, at Cesar Chavez Park in Berkeley.

Green Friday was developed in response to the barrage of messages about buying and shopping on Black Friday.

While millions of Bay Area residents sat in front of computers or visited a mall, Green Friday offered a healthy alternative – a chance to push away from the screen, get outdoors, and enjoy time with friends and family.

Climate Reality Bay Area (CRBA) celebrated Green Friday at Berkeley's Cesar Chavez Park – 90 acres of wildlife sanctuary, meadowlands, and a 17-acre off-leash dog area with views of three bridges.

CRBA also celebrated Native American Heritage Day with members of CRBA's Climate Justice Team and leaders of Indigenous Voices.

There were free snacks and a Green Friday cake.
