CRBA OUTREACH EVENT WITH SURPRISE GUEST: MAYOR LONDON BREED
On Saturday, July 17th, the Climate Reality Bay Area Chapter participated in an outdoor neighborhood learning event in San Francisco’s Potrero Hill district.
Sponsored by the Potrero Hill Neighborhood House, the community event featured STEM (science, technology, engineering, and math) learning booths for kids and adults. The groups in attendance provided environmental learning activities, small live animals to study and synthesized music-making among other offerings.
Invited to represent climate activism in the Bay Area, our CRBA representatives Gary H. White and 14-year-old trained Climate Reality Leader Nikki Donovan attended and talked with dozens of attendees about the climate crisis and the work our chapter in doing to address it.
Highlighting the event was an appearance by the Mayor of San Francisco, London Breed, who stopped at our booth and discussed with us the many steps the City is taking in the sustainability space.
Hopefully our membership numbers grow as a result of our chapter outreach efforts!
