HONORING OUR FOUNDERS

On March 18th, we held our first Climate Reality Bay Area chapter-wide meeting of 2021. We took time at the beginning to celebrate and recognize our chapter founders & Emeritus Chairs, Wei-Tai Kwok and Steve Richard.  Each were presented with earth inspired glass-blown trophies in recognition of their phenomenal leadership.

From Wei-Tai and Steve's ‘fierce but friendly’ dedication and commitment to the Climate Reality Project, the Greater Bay Area community, and the importance of climate action, our chapter has become one of the largest and most highly regarded chapters in the world.  We are deeply indebted to Wei-Tai and Steve for creating a community of dedicated advocates, providing the means to make an impact at the local level, and bringing us together in fun and meaningful ways.

As part of our tribute, we announced a special Leadership Tribute Challenge: We encourage chapter Climate Reality Leaders to log ALL of their acts of leadership during Earth month in honor of Wei-Tai and Steve.  What better way to honor two leaders motivated to drive climate action?  Let’s blow the doors off the goal of 500 logged acts between March 18 and April 30!

During this meeting, we also announced the launching of a full slate of social media platforms to help educate and engage our membership. Please sign up, follow and start liking our posts to grow our presence in the community!

Please check out the tribute video for Wei-Tai and Steve created by our Communications Chair, Pam Allio. And please don’t forget – our goal is to get 1000 likes for the video, and to get @AlGore to retweet!!
